Welcome to 2022! If you’ve been waiting (as we have) to see what the new “it” color is for this year, wait no longer.
Pantone rolled out the official 2022 color of the year. It’s called “Very Peri”, a spritely, joyous blue with violet-red undertones. Pantone said Very Peri is the “happiest and warmest of all the blue hues,” meant to symbolize transition and new possibilities. We’re all for that!
Interested in introducing this color into your home? Our editors have rounded up several items that highlight this color, whether you’re looking to do a little or a lot.
Let’s get started, shall we?
THROWING IN A LITTLE
Throw pillows are a great way to inject new and interesting colors into a room. Small in size, they can pack quite a punch, especially if the pattern is a lively one. Here we’ve pulled five options, with a variety of décor styles, but all have in common that purplish-periwinkle tone that Very Peri comes from.

MAKE A BLANKET STATEMENT
Similar to throw pillows, adding a new color via some sheets and/or blankets can be a great way to experiment with a hue before committing to it. So something like a throw on your couch, or an accent blanket on your bed. Of course if you want to make a bigger inclusion in, say, a guest room or even your own bedroom, we recommend rotating in a new sheet set or a quick-add duvet cover. Both items add a big punch but are still fairly easy to remove if you find you’re not fully feeling the love.
